Associate Professor | University of Victoria
Dr. Brad Buckham (BEng 1997; PhD 2003; PEng 2010) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and a member of the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems at the University of Victoria. His research portfolio spans several facets of the marine renewable energy space including wave and tidal resource assessment, numerical modeling and performance assessment of marine energy converter and studies of how marine supplied power integrates into remote communities to offset diesel fueled energy generation. His team’s work is supported by Western Diversification, NSERC, Natural Resources Canada, the BC Innovative Clean Energy Fund, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, the BC Knowledge Development Fund and the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions. Moving into 2018 and beyond, his program outputs are being gathered within the Pacific Regional Institute for Marine Energy Discovery (PRIMED) – a UVic Institute focused on building partnerships between marine energy technologies and BC Coastal communities.
